A Beginner's Guide to Biodynamic Farming

We've begun to collectively start caring about where our food comes from and how it’s grown. As we continue to look for ways to sustain Mother Earth, it's important to source our food from places that truly care about the earth and its inhabitants' livelihood.


With that in mind, Biodynamic Farmers aspire to be holistic practitioners whose sole purpose is to be part of healing the earth.


What Is Biodynamic Farming?

Biodynamic farming introduces a holistic approach that connects the farmer, the soil, the animals, and the cosmos altogether to reduce the volume of imported materials.


Instead, it works with the resources already available in the farm, including water sources and biodiversity.


What Is The Difference Between Biodynamic Farming and Organic Farming?

Whereas Organic Farming is the practice of producing food without the use of pesticides, herbicides or GMOs, Biodynamic Farming takes it a bit further. It works with the “life force” of Mother Nature to heal the earth and grow nutrient-dense foods without the use of chemicals.


So, How Does It Work?

Every aspect is interconnected. They're built upon a co-dependency where if one thrives, the others will too.


The animal's manure, green matter, and weeds are carefully composted, heated and fed biodynamic ingredients to create nutritious soil to spread on the fields as a fertilizer. This enriched soil then produces food for the plants, animals, and people. That's how the land's fields, pastures, and wetlands grow into a healthy home for its wildlife.
