What is it?
The term 'forest bathing' in itself was first made popular in Japan as 'shinrin-yoku' in 1980. It serves as both an eco-antidote to the rapid tech changes burnout and to inspire people to reconnect with and protect the country’s forests.
How to do it?
To forest-bathe, you simply need to spend time in the presence of nature. Breathe in the fresh breeze, gaze upon the everblooming greeneries, live and let live. Consciously attaching yourself to the soil, the trees, the air, and everything else.
Why do it?
Research suggests that forest-bathing helps lower blood pressure, heart rate, and level of stress. A study by the International Journal of Environmental Health Research found that spending time in an urban park can impact one's sense of well-being positively.
As the gift that keeps on giving, there are moments of wonders you can only find in nature. Make use of them wisely, be the good guest that nature deserves, and most importantly, enjoy the joy of being in nature's presence.
